6 Seth lived 105 years and fathered Enosh. 7 Seth lived, after he fathered Enosh, 807 years, and he fathered sons and daughters. 8 All the days of Seth were 912 years. Then he died.
6 וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֕ת חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃ 7 וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֗ת אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־אֱנ֔וֹשׁ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ 8 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵי־שֵׁ֔ת שְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס
I’ll remind you that v. 1a gives us the title The Genealogy of Adam, and that vv. 1b–2 are linking this chapter to Genesis 1.
The introductory paragraph of the Genealogy had another link to Genesis 1, and differed to some extent from the entries to follow — the first of which is at the top of this post. I’ll bold the differences and link them to our discussion in earlier posts:
